Checked out your Blog ..really kewl!! I initially started the sports video network on Ning as a way to group together info on atheletes from my son's former high school. Then I started using it as a place to profile highlight videos. I was really hoping the schools' coaching staff would take more interest in it. Anyway it served a purpose and helped several kids get scholarships. I created another similiar network: http://sportsrecruit.ning.com/
...and we also created profile pages for individual atheletes that were sent out to college coaches. There are many kids that could be playing college sports ..they just don't understand they need to market themselves. Only a handfull of schools have the resources to attract the top atheletes and that leaves the rest of the Div IA, Div IAA,Div II, and NAIA schools as opportunities for those willing to put in the effort to self promote.
